Our History

Calvary Baptist held it's first Service in the late 1940's in a small White Church, which has now been bricked & renovated into the front of the Daycare. The record of the First Worship Service with Bro. Randy Pike as Pastor, was July 4, 1954. Pastor's that aided in the foundation of Calvary include: Randy Pike, TD Hall, Earl Dodd, Larry Ellis, William Hunt, Bobby Breeden, Stanley Epling, Smith Epling and Jerry Thrower.

June 12, 1989, Dr. Donnie Bryant became Pastor. His first service had 13 in attendance. We now have over 150 in attendance during Morning Worship.

The Fellowship Hall was completed in March, 1994 which now serves as staff offices && Sunday School Rooms. The paved parking lot was added in 1998 along with the new Sanctuary being built. There was a Bible Institute held from September 2001 to May 2004.

In April 2003,the church was able to purchase the property behind the building. In July, 2003 Parents Day Out Began.  December 29, 2004 the church voted to build the Playground and Pavilion. What a joy to have a covered area for fellowship, food and other programs.

2006 was a great year. Calvary Christian Daycare & Preschool opened their doors. The old sanctuary (the little white Church that began Calvary) was converted for use by the Daycare & as classrooms. They meet the needs of many families in the community.

In 2011, we voted to build an all purpose building. In 2013 we finished what is now the Gymnasium & Fellowship Hall! In August, 2013 Upward Ministry began. This outreach program has grown every year.

Each day we strive to let God's light shine into the community by serving the people. We focus on God's Word, The Holy Bible, which leads us along the path. We hope that you will pray for us to meet these needs as we serve the Lord.

" Now therefore, ye are no more strangers & foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints, & of the household of God; and are built upon the foundation of the apostles & prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone; in whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord: In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.
